Tandoori chicken is a chicken dish, which is moderately hot and is unique in taste. Tandoori Chicken is probably the most preferred Indian recipe, if the visiting foreigners’ preference is any indication.

Tandoori Chicken owes its popularity to the preparation process, in the canter of which is the ‘Tandoor’. Tandoor is an open top clay oven, bell-shaped, set into earth and is used in northern part of India. It has clay wall lined with brick insulation. This helps the earthen oven retain its heat, which when fully fired reaches the temperature around 800 to 900 degree F.
